Hi, I'm Alexandra

I am a second-year Master's in Public Policy student at the Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University. My passion is the US-Mexico relationship, and more specifically, how Mexico’s domestic political dynamics influence the bilateral relationship.

Over the past five years, I have dedicated myself to studying Mexican politics, grappling with its complexities and disentangling popular narratives to develop my own independent understanding of the country’s political landscape, one based on my own research and time spent living and working in Mexico. On my Substack, Moments in Mexico, a platform dedicated to tracking major developments in Mexican politics and analyzing their significance for US audiences – both in the public and private sectors.

Before graduate school, I worked at the Wilson Center, researching and writing about critical mineral, semiconductor, and electric vehicle supply chains. In 2024, I worked with Wilson’s Mexico Institute to develop the 2024 Mexico Elections Guide, the premier English-language resource for Mexico’s recent electoral cycle.

Prior to the Wilson Center, I worked as a Fulbright García Robles English Teaching Assistant in Mexico City and Guadalajara, Mexico – one of the most formative experiences that, to this day, drives my passion for Mexican politics.
